    Quack for an HSH Strat

I’m looking to replace the pickups in an HSH strat. I’m most likely going with 59/Custom Hybrid in the bridge and either a 59 or a Pearly Gates in the neck. But, I am unsure what pickup to use in the middle. I’d like it to be a noiseless singlecoil-sized pickup. But, my experience in wiring...

Duncan pickup that sounds like a Tone Zone

My favorite bridge pickup is the DiMarzio Tone Zone. I put in a Duncan Sh11 (Custom Custom) into the bridge of an LP to go with an Alnico II Pro in the neck. Love the Alnico II Pro, but the Sh11 is just ok. Should have just gone with the tried and True Tone Zone - better clean and distorted...

Gibson 57/57+ vs Alnico II Pro

Has anyone tried both of these sets? How do they compare? Thanks!

Replacement for Gibson 57/57 Plus in a Les Paul

I have a Gibson LP with the 57 Classic/57 Plus combo. It's not a bad sound, but they (especially the 57 Plus can sometimes sound a bit harsh, and almost fizzy. I also have a guitar equipped with Gibson's 490R/T combo - I seem to prefer the sound of those pickups as it's quite a bit smoother...

    Duncans Into Gibson Quick Connect

I have a 60 Tribute Les Paul, which comes with two P90s. Those pickups are installed via Gibson Quick Connect. The Gibson P90 (true P90) comes with a 4 conductor wire - never seen that before. Anyway, I needed a humbucker in the bridge, and ordered a custom shop Pearly Gates in a P90 housing...

    AC30 and tubes

I recently got my hands on an AC30CC2. It sounds great, for the most part. But, it breaks up really easily and has very little headroom. I have to set each channel's gain no higher than 1.5 or 2. Otherwise, I start getting very obvious breakup. Also, when using gain pedals, I often get a layer...

Mid-powered bridge humbucker needed that works with a p90 in the neck

I have a mahogany body, maple neck/rosewood finger board guitar. Current setup is DiMarzio Super Distortion in the bridge (soapbar shape), and a Seymour Duncan Vintage Bridge P90 in the neck. I play mostly classic and 90's-type rock. The pickups work really well together in terms of output...
