    Pickup repair

I just bought a new Hot Chicken tele bridge pickup. One of the little copper wires leading from the coil to the solder point is broken. Unfortunately, even though the pickup is new, the online dealer does not accept returns or exchanges. I don’t made paying for the pickup to be repaired by SD...

If you like the APH set you'll like.....

Just installed a APH 2 in the neck of my guitar. Really like the warm vocal tones with a nice rounded top end. Amazingly, this is the first time I have ever tried this model. I have a APH 1 on the way for the bridge. Just out of curiosity....what other pickups on the market compare to the APH...

    AP2 neck PG bridge.....WOW!

Just paired these together and man oh man do they sound great. I'm either on the neck pickup or bridge. Never ever in the middle position. If I could have a two way switch I'd be perfectly happy. The AP2 has warmth, with a wonderful sweet top end. Never dark or murky. Actually, if there is a...

    Pearly Gates bridge

Put a Pearly Gates in the bridge of my Shawbucker Deluxe Tele. Outstanding pickup and sounds fantastic. I never use a pick, and this pickup reacts so well for my playing style. Very direct, focused with a quick response. Exactly what I was needing.

    Phat Cats

Just got this guitar below, and I am really impressed with the Phat Cats. Can't remember if I have ever had these pickups before. Just wondering how they sound in different styles guitars, or are they just well suited for semi hollows?

    Different magnet or different pickup?

I play a 335 style guitar with antiguities. I never use a pick....just the fleshy part of my fingers. Nails are kept short. I do like the antiguities just fine, but struggle with the neck being a tad murky. Wish I could add just a wee bit of top end sparkle. Just a tad more open I guess. Would I...

    Jazz/Custom in my 2008 SG

I have had an SH-2 before, and it is one of my favorite neck pickups. First time though with a SH-5. I am not much of a ceramic fan, but in this pickup it works. I have a JB in my Eastman T386 paired with a Jazz, and I am thinking I might try a Custom in that guitar too. I put on some...

    What pickup am I needing?

Just bought a Eastman T486. The SD Jazz is too bright....what would be a warmer and a lot less "glass" alternative?

    FT Duncan, Suhr, Harmonic Design

I am looking for a Cool Rails neck pickup for my strat, and a single coil size humbucker bridge pickup for my tele. Cool Rails would need to be black. This is what I have to trade. All are in perfect working condition with full leads. Suhr V60LP creme cover Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder flat...

    Hot Rail

I have a JB jr in the bridge of my strat, and a Hot Rails in the neck. The HR however is a bridge pickup.....and sounds just fine. Anyone else using a bridge pickup in the neck with similar results?

I have a Suhr Esquire that is just flippin kills so I decided to give this a try. Local store had only two trembuckers to choose from......JB or a...
