Onslow
I got my first guitar at 17. Finally took pro lessons at 24 while completing applied science degree. Now working toward Jazz studies/performance degree. I don't gig much except for school functions or I sit in when I can.
Video games when I'm not playing guitar or at work, and looking for that second date. Other free time is spent wishing I had the music degree instead of doubting myself and taking the safe road.
Black Epiphone LP with an Alnico II Pro in the neck, strung with D'Addario chromes, LightBurst Gibson es-137 strung with Thomastik flats, Roland Cube, EHX Holy Grail.
Duncan Pups I Have Experience With...
Seth Lover Neck, covered, unpotted-- subtle highs, spongey but focused bass, warm when rolling tone down. Woody and dry tone. Emphasis on mids can make it raw sounding and honk. Good for smokey Blues & Jazz, and raunchy Classic Rock.
'59 Neck, covered, potted-- Bell-like, with a noticeable lack of mid range. Wind chimes with slight cream. Has a thunderous bass. Can get a little too piercing in my opinion. Good for "big" Blues, bright Jazz, and Classic to Modern Rock.
Alnico II Pro Neck, covered, potted-- Soft highs, big but chewy bass, throaty yet full middle. I roll the tone almost all the way off on my amp but leave the A2P almost all the way open and it sounds incredible to me. I tend to like only a hint of highs. My Epi is pretty bright though. Good for a thick, highly musical, smooth, tenor sax-like "vocal" tone and the best Seymour pup for traditional jazz guitar tone in my opinion.
