Back in 2001 my original band went into a local studio and recorded a 5 song EP. We were young, inexperienced, and on a really tight budget so the results were... crappy. We forged ahead with it but the mixes sucked and it was very much a, "they tried real hard" sort of thing.
A couple months...
I'm amp heavy at the moment but I don't know how to move on from any of them.
- Fender '57 Twin
- 5F6A Bassman (started out as a 59 Bassman LTD but the metal chassis is about the only original part left)
- 5E3 Tweed Deluxe (built by me)
- 5F1 Tween Champ (built by me)
- 6G16 '63 Vibroverb...
I did both the audio and video production for this (as well as play guitar on stage lol). I was handed the raw multi-track recordings (pre-fader) at the end of the night so the mix is all mine. Same goes for the video. Took me a few months to get it all done but I'm pretty pleased with the results.
Here’s the final photos of the finished amp. This is the Stewmac Deluxe Reverb kit (which is a rebranded Mojotone kit). I got a repro faceplate but I decided not to get a “Fender” corner grille badge as a tribute to the “no logo” 1964 Deluxe Reverb (since the faceplate has the pre CBS “Fender...
Anyone know what specific year the Antiquity II Tele bridge pickup is modeled after? The SD marketing description is kind of vague on details and Tele pickups varied a fair amount from the early to mid 60's.
About 3 weeks ago I bought a Univeral Audio Ox. I've never been able to get a decent sound of of a miking a cab so I figured lets give this a go. This the first bit of an old song my original band recorded almost 20 years ago (god I feel old). I decided to try and build something familiar to...
I just bought a second hand Antiquity Dog Ear P90 and the bobbin is cracked and a chunk even came off. I taped it back together with scotch tape. Is this normal for them? Should I be concerned about it? It's under the cover so visually it's a non-issue.
I decided I needed a larger board to add my wireless and my vocal pedal on. And then I fell down a rabbit hole and ended up building an entire new board with a GigRig G2 switcher and all new custom cables. I used Squareplug connectors and soldered it all myself. I built the momentary switch box...
I know Ace is the resident Tele slinger round here but I thought I'd share my latest creation. Put this together just before Christmas. Body/finish by Guitar Mill. Swamp Ash finished in candy apple red flake with a light/medium relic treatment. Fender American Original 60s Telecaster Custom...
This is a project I've had in the works for almost a year now. The last component was the body and it arrived yesterday! I shielded the cavities and got it all assembled. I did a rough setup but I've sent it to my luthier as the nut slots need to be final cut and set up.
Specs:
Body: Guitar...
Finished this build about a month and a half ago and figured I'd make a post here. Did the Mojotone 6G16 Brown Vibroverb kit.
I purchased the Mojotone kit minus speakers. Separately I ordered a pair of Weber 10A125's. I also found a seller online that makes repro faceplates and ordered up the...
I ended up landing in another project. This time with an original country artist. We shot our first video about a month ago and it dropped today!
I'm playing the blue Tele.

Just caught this lightly used on a local sale. I've been really curious to try one of these for a long time. Why? Because it's the speaker Keith Richards uses in his Twins. So, of course it's going into my 57 Twin. Figure I'll try it and if I don't end up liking it I can always resell it. From...
I have an HSH guitar and I'm looking to change out the middle single coil Strat pickup. The middle is RWRP to give noise free 2/4 Strat tones. The two buckers are Dimarzio PAF Pros. I'd like to know which pickup makers are going to be compatible with those in terms of polarity and wind direction.
Technically yesterday, but whatever. Fender American Original 60's Jaguar in Surf Green! I picked it up used off Reverb. Came equipped with a Mastery Bridge. In great shape except for one chip on the very bottom of the body.
I had a TVL Jazzmaster and decided to move on from it. Funny enough...
