I want to install a SMB-4A pickup in a 98 Stingray. For now I intend on keeping the current stock active electronics in the Bass. Is this the direct replacement pickup for this Bass? Also, would anyone Know what the tonal difference is from the stock pickup?

I have a white hot rail that I would like to paint black to match the other rails in my strat. What kind of paint should I use, and will this effect the tone?

I have a hot rail in the bridge of a strat. The other 2 pickups are stock. I like the fatter sound. If I tap it , how close to a strat tone can I expect? Also, will it Quack in the #2 position?
