I remember your threads. But honestly, I don't find that to be an issue with mine. :) I'm sure if I really started to find it an issue, I could sort it out. What I did with my old prestige was shim one side of the neck pocket. I'm sure I could do that. But I don't find it needs it as is.

Nah, not worth it. I figured there was going to be "idiosincracies" with the lowest end guitar Fender offers. It's playing much better than I thought it would. To me, very slighlly the off-center strings are not an issue. It's playing amazing, honestly.

So I've been working on it today. Few pics to go with my anecdote. First thing I did was change the saddles to brass. Then I wired up the cream pickguard with a JB and a DiMarzio 500K volume pot. But oh oh, the pickguard didn't fit becasue the hardtail bridge is wider than a standard...

Maybe. But it plays so good, honestly. And it was not an issue. At least for me.

I was checking, and it seems to be an issue with the saddles rather than the neck. The saddles aren't tight against each other, so they have some play, and were leaning a bit more towards the treble side.

Probably. I'll give it a go tomorrow when I change the pickup, pickguard, and saddles.

Thank you. The pic makes it look worse than it is. I don't have issues with playability. I'll try to take the neck off and see what I can do when I change the pickup and pickguard, but even as is, I don't find it an issue. My old Ibanez Prestige was like that when I first got it too, LOL.

First impressions: Plays amazing. Not just for the money. I'm sure the setup the store gave it has something to do with it. The neck is super smooth, the frets are great with no sharp edges or buzzy high spots. Just overall great. The neck profile is pretty good. It's not as thin as my Gibson...

Yeah, I agree it's kind of an either or question. And yes, it's not unprecedented running it on lower values pots with the JB. And while Seymour designed it that way, I don't think he accounted for every scenario the JB was going to be used for. I don't think Seymour had "Mastodon/A7X/Tool/LoG"...

If they work with Fishman wiring, then they won't work with the dual-mode EMG's wiring.

That would help with the shrillness issue, but I think that would actually be a step down, rather. Especially in aggression. I like it. I run my JB under a 300-ish K load on my LP as well. But not sure that's what the OP wants. JMO.
