    Fender Pugilist

I'm interested in this pedal but have read that the switch makes a very audible click. Have you experienced this?

    NAD - Quilter Aviator Cub

I've had this amp for three days and can't stop playing it. Clean or cranked vintage Fender tones at any volume. It loves all my guitars. There's nothing of similar price that comes anywhere near this. I had a Blues Cube Artist for a while and this blows it away completely.

How much to pay for perfection ?

When we look at PRS SE models, MIM Strats, Epiphones etc it is generally accepted that we should expect less than perfection i.e. cheap pots, tuners, bridge and maybe less than stellar frets, imperfect finishing etc. On the other hand you should expect none of these things on a PRS Core model...

Help - intermittent loss of output.

Hi Folks, I have a humbucker set (not SD's) installed in a PRS Bernie Marsden. I don't do any electrical work myself. A while back I started having problems with the neck pickup. It would lose power, cut in and out and make a crackling noise. I thought it might be the selector switch. I took it...

    Yamaha THR100

I've had this amp since the beginning of the year and I have to say it's absolutely amazing. Feels and sounds like a quality tube amp. Nothing 'digital' about it at all. I've been hanging on to my Cornford but I think I can now let it go.

    Gibson 2016 Traditional vs Standard.

My local dealer is listing both 2016 Les Paul Traditional and 2016 Les Paul Standard Traditional. The Standard is £400 more expensive then the Traditional. What are the differences between these models ?

    PRS Bernie Marsden/Gibson Les Paul.

Quite a few folks on various forums are saying that their PRS Bernie outperforms their LP Standards/R8's etc. What do you make of this ? Do you believe that the Bernies could be as good, if not better than, an LP costing 5 or 6 times the price ?

Open or closed back combo ?

All you guys gigging with combos - do you prefer open or closed back ? I've been using an open back 1 x 12 Cornford for years. I play English pubs, usually quite small, so I'm never miked. The open back really helps spread the sound around. I'm looking at another amp with 2 x 12 but a closed...

Mods do not add value to a guitar.

So - if I buy say a new Epiphone LP for $300, upgrade the pickups, re-fret it, change the bridge and all the pots and wiring, new nut etc it's now worth less than I paid for it ? This is not a collector's item where it's possible to understand why a buyer may be looking for all original parts...

    Advice on an Epiphone

What do you guys think of this ? I've offered a trade for my JV Strat which I never play. I know nothing about Epi's but the pickups alone are worth a few quid. https://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=32915.0

    N.G.D. PRS SE Bernie Marsden

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c97SP3pYK8w Got myself one of these. Lovely guitar. One of the nicest necks I've ever played - it is a duplicate of the neck on Bernie's 59 LP. Great fretboard. Nice, smooth controls. Tunes up perfectly. The 245 pickups are pretty good but I want to ice the cake...

    N.A.D. ID TVP 15

Took a trip to my local music shop today (GAK Brighton - great bunch of people). I was looking to treat myself to a new practice amp as an early retirement present. I've been youtubing for a few weeks and had decided that it was going to be either the Yamaha THR10 or the Blackstar ID TVP 15. I...

    Custom 5 SH14

I'm looking at a Yamaha Pacifica 611 FHM which comes with Seymours - SH14 bridge and P90 neck. The guitar is very strat-like i.e. alder body, maple neck, rosewood board. I'm a little concerned that the SH14 may be too mid scooped. Youtube demos of the guitar sound good but the demo on the SD...

What makes an All Tube amp ?

If you look inside a simple single channel non-master volume amp it's not like there's nothing in it but tubes. There's lots of stuff in there that isn't tubes that presumably makes a contribution to the behaviour and sound of the amp. Are amps that use diode clipping not all tube amps ? Just...
