this guitar has two TZ's stock
and after hearing paul play this axe they must be wired in parallel
a stock TZ is mega fat and super high output but these TZ's on this ibanez sound much thinner and much lower in output
anyone know the dope on this?
some of his other guitars have paf pros...

pg neck?
this will be for lead tones ala gary moore, micheal schenker and cleans as well as splitting for strat tones
I want the neck pup to be like it was made for the CC like a matched set
real warm, fat but still have that humbucking bite just like the CC in the bridge
I was told...
make the AZ have a lot more sparkle?
this is the second new air zone i have owned and i still have this one fault with them, they seem to lacks the sparkle of the CC?
mine always stay to middybassy and dark whereas the CC's just are perfect?
and not as boomy
would going to a 1meg pot be the...
I know that a 250K will taper some highs and output so if i need more treble bite/output
from a pretty warm pup will the 1 meg do this?
I do not use any tone pots just a 500K vol pot but still want a little more "humbucking bite" from a air zone
I tried wiring my CC wired in parallel(no hum) just for S*#t's and giggles and it sounded quite close to EVH's broken paf in the frankenstrat that goes for 25K
give it a go,it is easy to do and totally reversable
I was suprised at the result
The first thing that floored me with suprise was the duncan
it is VERY,very low output, even more so than the EVH or 78 custom shop pup
it reminded me of a P-90 without the hum!
sounded like a tele on steriods or something? picture the tone of a tele and add some bucker fatness to it that is...
I wish companies would get thier facts straight before listing a sale for a product
http://www.americanmusical.com/item--i-SEY-EVH78.html
here is the part that is just plain WRONG!
"The EVH 78 is faithfully authentic down to the dual black bobbins, non-potted coils, and single conductor lead."...
I am !
for one thing it makes picking a pup a lot easier
there are too many makers these days with too many choices!
plus i like that duncans are tried and true they have endured since the late 70's and have IMHO the most transparent, natural tone of em all.
dimarzios are as old but they seem to...
please dont say just buy a paf pro i really prefer the tone and quality of duncans
which i know you can understand:bigok:
anyway which duncan will get me closest to a paf pro type concept?
scremin demon?
the pro is based on a paf but has more output presence, clarity and a very vocal
wha pedal...
I see that the blackouts are all the rage so what do these resemble tonally?
I really dont go for the 81/85 tone
would i be better off trying the dave mustiane set?
i hear these are basically a active JB/jazz set which to me is superior to the 81/85 set
