Somebody asked me how much it would cost to buy the equipment necessary to start and run a recording studio. Good question. So, ballpark,how much of an initial cash layout is some one looking at just for equipment to open a decent studio?

I recently installed new pups in my Epi LP. All was well for a couple of weeks then-out of the blue-I have a hum.
It is ground related I am sure but all the connections are tight and I can find no breaks in the wiring. The only thing that makes it stop is to push inward on the power cord plug...
I am considering the purchase of a Tascam 122-USB for recording. The ads ( of course ) say it'll do everything but lay the tracks down for you. Learned the hard way that there are probably shortcomings I don't need to find out about AFTER the puchase. Anyone have any experience with this unit?
I am considering replacing the pick ups in my American Standard Strat. I am -overall -happy with the tone, clarity and fullness of the factory pups but would like more output and presence. Do I need different pups or just a bigger amp?
