In others words, are they made that way JUST to be period correct or does it slightly change tone too ?! Just wondering. Thanks! I always want the option of high gain without the squealing. Even though it's not primarily what I will play with them.

Re: Replacement pickups for a MIM Fender Toronado Get a JB Sh-4 for the bridge. It can do everything you want with some real midrange punch too. Leave the neck pickup you got in. A JB has been used live/on record with alder bodied Fender's countless times with success. It's pretty much foolproof.

Re: Fender Jaguar HH - Humbucker Advice for Alternative Rock? 3 months later I finally settled on a Jazz/JB. Based on the humbuckers sounding great with gain of course..... But the real decider was discovering how nice the coil split clean tones are!! Best of both worlds now.

In love with the sound of the Jazz/JB in my alder body Jaguar HH. The coil split sounds are also fantastic. Can't recommend these time tested buckers enough. Match made in heaven in the right Fender. I think they look really sleek in the pickguard with all the black knobs on the Jag too ;)
