Looking for a beginner friendly DAW

As you can see DAW software is a crowded space with a lot of competition. For this reason, most of them have a 7-day free trial. Download some and play around with them. See what you are most comfortable with. There is no wrong or right choice; it is about what you can navigate with the least...

Looking for a beginner friendly DAW

Not necessarily, but likely yes. I eventually moved to PreSonus, which is now Fender. Audacity is a free way to learn the basics and to see if making music at home is for you. When I bought my first interface, probably 20ish years ago, it came with PreSonus Studio One, and I have been using...

Logo question - Anyone know the brand - see picture.

Heater LP copies were produced in Japan in the mid-to-late 1970s, typically by the same large OEM factories that built guitars for brands like Ventura, Electra, Greco, and some lower-tier Ibanez and Aria models. Heater wasn’t a factory brand; it was a badge brand, meaning the specs could vary...

    watch a pup get repaired!

Lindey is not inexpensive but worth every cent. He did a custom set for me years back that came out fantastic. If it is a simple rewind there are less expensive options.

Multi-tracks, VSTs, the midi is limited but it is a great place to start and not overly complicated. Best of all it is free.

    Same pickup, completely different results

Without a doubt the dynamics are different which is why I mix things up. There is a certain feel and dynamics you can only get from high output pickups but the range and response from low-mid output pickups seems to have a greater range. I think all pickups have benefits and short comings it is...

    Same pickup, completely different results

Same here. I have put pickups in guitars that sounded different, or the particular guitar brought out certain characteristics I like. I have never put a great pickup in a different axe and had it sound bad or unusable.

Looking for a beginner friendly DAW

Great suggestion, Audacity is another great open source DAW. Keeping in mind that some of the commercial DAWs you need to buy are built using a lot of this open source stuff as a platform. Download them both and play around a bit they are both free. I have quite a bit of software and plugins...

What 25 years does to a bridge

Let me tell you about this guitar bridge, okay? Solid gold. Real gold. Nobody’s ever seen a guitar bridge like this before. The tone is incredible—tremendous tone, the best tone. Other bridges? Weak. Sad. This one? Powerful. It makes the guitar sound richer, louder, more successful. Luthiers...

What guitar are you playing today?

I haven't touched a guitar all day. I think I need to take a couple of days before diving back in.

    Your Favorite Tubes

I have Mullards in everything. My Peavey just got out of the shop, and the tech put two JJ preamp tubes in it. They sound very fizzy at lower volumes. Had I known it needed tubes, I would have brought him the Mullards. I will probably swap them out at some point.
