Stock pu's (498t and 490r) sound muddy, a little noisy, dark, and too middy for my tastes (hard rock, old school metal, 80's hairbands, occasional drop tuning.) Playing through Peavey 6505+. I play mostly rhythm guitar. Do pickup covers affect the tone? Thanks.
