SHOEGAZE board . . .what would you use ?

https://slowdiveofficial.com/ https://www.thebandride.com/ https://www.swervedriver.com/ or just go to bandcamp.com and search for "shoegaze" almost any band on there is better than MBV.

SHOEGAZE board . . .what would you use ?

MBV is my least favorite of the shoegaze bands. They're pretty much a one trick pony - excessive volume to bludgeon the listener into an altered state. I much prefer the bands with more dynamics and nuance. But reverse reverb is still pretty cool.

SHOEGAZE board . . .what would you use ?

Yup. But those big pedals boards just look so darned impressive. I've seen screenshots of Kevin Shields' set up, back in the day. Ludicrous, but made me drool with envy.

What sort of shoegazer are you?

Back in the early 80s I was taking an electronic music course in high school. We discussed frippertronics. Having 2 Teac A3440s reel-to-reel recorders in the classroom, we experimented quite a bit with loops.

What sort of shoegazer are you?

I haven't listened to Fripp in quite awhile...although I enjoyed a lot of what King Crimson did, I found his playing just too discordant. I haven't really heard much of his ambient stuff. I do enjoy Eno though.

SHOEGAZE board . . .what would you use ?

I'll have to look into it. But considering how much I've invested in my pedalboard to date, it probably won't be advantageous. Especially since I'm not playing live at the moment. But thanks for the information.

    Muff based FUZZ help!

Yes, I know. But people are obviously still looking at it. Information is timeless.

What sort of shoegazer are you?

I always see people mainly mention My Bloody Valentine when talking about shoegaze, but that's just one end of the spectrum. On the other end are bands like Slowdive and Levitation. While MBV hammers your brain with sheer volume and distortion, Slowdive drowns you in a warm ocean of reverbs...

Which one LIL-59 for tele OR Quarter Pounder for tele

I have the same guitar. I switched out the pickups with Duncan 52s. Alnico 5 magnets under the wound strings, giving them a brighter, tighter tone and alnico 2 magnets under the unwound strings, taming those shrill ice-pick highs. I play shoegaze that those pickups work great for running...

    Muff based FUZZ help!

Have you checked out the Idiotbox NoMoon? It has a Rat clone, a Muff clone and a TS clone, independantly switchable and you can cascade them in series or parallel. I had a Sarcophagus for awhile, but it stopped working after a couple of months. Not sure I'd buy anything from BATW after that.

Pickup suggestions for my HSS Godin Session HT

I'd suggest Duncan PRails, with the tripleshot pickup ring (if it'll fit). Then you get the option of single coil, P90, humbucking with the coils in series and humbucking with the coils in parallel.

Pickups for Hard Rock, Shoegaze & Ambient

It was originally meant as an insult, coined by the British music press, to describe bands like Ride, Slowdive, etc. that had massive pedal boards and the guitarists were constantly looking at their pedals boards. From the audience it looked like they were staring at their feet, hence "shoegaze".

SHOEGAZE board . . .what would you use ?

I prefer separate pedals. I've gone the multi FX a few times and it's just not as versatile. At least 10 years ago. Not sure about nowadays. Used to be the algorithms were set, so you always had dirt - mod - delay - reverb and couldn't experiment with different ways to chain FX together. My...
