Special HSS wiring with either MegaSwitch or Super Switch

Well...I always vote Super Switch because it can be rewired or tweaked if you're careful. So like I often do I realize I wish I made one of the combos P3 not P2. As long as you don't mind wiring tiny jumpers. Do you have a diagram for this? Disclaimer: I haven't done it I'd have to draw it...

Special HSS wiring with either MegaSwitch or Super Switch

Neck Stack RW/RP, Mid Single coil RW/RP, and normal Bridge HB should work with the HSH diagram.

Special HSS wiring with either MegaSwitch or Super Switch

Had to re-read prior posts and instructions and rethink . The HSS diagram 2 is meant for true single coils so it doesn't show a Neck series link. The HSH diagram for the E Model switch can be used for an HSS with a stacked neck single. The quirk is the Strat Stacks have an opposite magnetic...

Awesome happy to hear it worked out :)

Special HSS wiring with either MegaSwitch or Super Switch

I think the Megaswitch E is meant for true single coils. To get hum-canceling B+D or C+D which must be parallel combos, you'd have to split the neck stack. The megaswitch has no way to do that. No connection point for the stack series link. It's why I don't like internally hardwired switches...

    Doubleneck Tele wiring

Did you figure this out? The diagram looks correct to the AxLabs spec, except I'm unsure about the "DP3T". If its standard 3 position On-On-On its a DPDT. The middle position is alternate pairs on either side. This Duncan article explains. If its an On-Off-On you'd have no sound in the...

Which coil scheme is more useful

interesting I never thought about that..I first did inners purposely trying to get a sound close to a middle pickup on a 2 humbucker guitar I didn't want to rout or buy a 3rd pickup on. I'm ~that person~ who actually plays the middle pickup of a Strat by itself - a lot - and walks by dozens of...

Which coil scheme is more useful

Hello @Artie have you tried your virtual middle with a 4PDT- On-On-On? I think there is a way to do it but I don't have one of those switches to test the idea anymore. I put the 6 sound Freeway Ultra toggle in my only guitar that has the toggle-volume-tone layout. I always did inner coils...

Seymour Duncan wants $255 for shipping to replace two "Dead on Arrival" Antiquity II Surfer Strat Pickups.

Hope its okay to post this since its another company but one of the best pickup repairers. Diagnosing and repairing a dead 1956 Strat middle pickup with same symptoms. He explains a ton of nuances its like a mini class. Its interesting that he fixes it but the problem isn't what he thinks it...

Seymour Duncan wants $255 for shipping to replace two "Dead on Arrival" Antiquity II Surfer Strat Pickups.

It is entirely possible like ehdwuld said they actually aren't dead, just the solder joints failed, but the attempted repair was not done right. I'm giving my professional opinion as someone who installed thousands of pickups and hundreds of Duncans. If you'd like you can look up some of my...

Seymour Duncan wants $255 for shipping to replace two "Dead on Arrival" Antiquity II Surfer Strat Pickups.

It is cool Duncan always goes the extra mile, but I have to disagree at least in part. I work in the field and its a fact that's a hack repair attempt which gives me every reason to bash it. I would like the OP and everyone else to know that they should never accept that quality of repair...

Haven't been on in a while. What a strange thread. Why keep claiming defective pickups were sold when no one tested them until after a 12 hour cross ocean flight? Your friend ordered and received the pickups in the US. Then brought them to you across an ocean by plane. You're technically...

I got 9.5's now but maybe I should switch to .010's

All the info here is good so just to add to it... There's a couple more reasons switching to a lower string gauge can cause open string buzz even if the nut wasn't touched. The string can be loose in the slot. Wound strings could be .002-.006" narrower dropping half or whole gauge. If an A slot...

    The useful advice thread

Gently crimp the legs of straight leg capacitors to reduce the chance they break off at the base and can't be repaired like the one on the right.
