    P90 Stack push/pull series/parallel switch wiring

I'd like to put P90 Stacks in my Revstar RS502T. It's currently in factory condition with 3-way switch, a volume pot, and a tone pot. The tone pot has a push/pull "DRY" switch that provides bass cut that I'd like to keep as it is. I'd like to have push/pull series/parallel switching on the...

What pups behave/sound like G&L ASAT Special MFD?

I've played both the ASAT Classic and ASAT Special and loved the sound of both, especially the big MFD pups on the Special. But I'm planning to build a Warmoth with wide neck, strat body, universal bathtub route (and GK3). What aftermarket pups do you think I should consider? I'd be interested...

Wiring diagram with P-Rails with CTS push-pull DPDT pots

I put P-Rails on my old PRS Santana SE using the CTS push-pull pots. Works great! Love om and love the guitar more now. The wiring with these pots wasn't 100% obvious to me but in the end I found that this works. I put the number of the CTS switch terminals on the SD wiring diagram. If you can...

SC (size) bridge to go with a Parallel Axis Stack neck?

I'm looking for a new set to put in an SSS guitar. I like the classic sound of an SC in bridge and neck (I don't use the middle so often). Listening to samples it seems I'm looking for the V shaped eq with big bass, less mid, lots of sparkle. Parallel Axis Stack (PA-STK1n) in the neck sound...

Hack a Sustainiac Stealth Pro to put an SC beside it

Schecter sells a number of guitars with the Sustainiac Stealth Pro like the one pictured below. It's a SC-sized humbucker adjacent to a dummy space filler shaped like the inner coil of a HB. Do you know of anyone successfully hacking such a thing to replace that dummy coil with a proper SC pup?

Enough space in a Yamaha Revstar 502 for a P-90 Stack?

The P-90 Stack pup is nearly an inch tall. Does anyone know if this fits in a Yamaha Revstar 502?

    Surf rock guitar: budget project

Re: Surf rock guitar: budget project Well, that possibility now exists. My Pacifica 612VIIFM arrived on Saturday with unfinished frets: leveled but not crowned or polished. The flat abrasive fret tops killed tone, sustain and made string bending a horrible abrasive experience I don't want to...

Sentient + Pegasus in a .strandberg* Boden Original 8?

I'm interested to get more inspiring low gain and clean tones from my guitar. I don't think I have the right vocabulary to describe what's lacking with the Fishman Fluence but I have to try: sharp attack, clear high harmonics, and dynamic interest and subtlety, i.e. playing loud and soft sounds...

    Surf rock guitar: budget project

Re: Surf rock guitar: budget project Will do. In the mean time, here's the surf-rock song I wrote for my homework this week. The assignment was to choose a mode of the melodic minor scale and write a melody on it. I used this drum part https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBNY43Xlp1Y Tab is for...

    Surf rock guitar: budget project

Re: Surf rock guitar: budget project Thanks so much for the excellent info. This is really great. I had talked myself into some theory in which the pickguard was the top of an acoustic box, vibration of which affects the pickups in a way that's a necessary part of how the strat gets its sound...

    Surf rock guitar: budget project

I have a lot of relatively difficult study, practice and composition homework and I like to take a break from that by playing something that's just good fun. For now that's surf rock. I'm also quite taken with the Sahara sound, especially Mdou Moctar. But I don't have the right kind of guitar...

    That one piece of gear....

Re: That one piece of gear.... Levy's M4GF 3½" padded, suede-backed strap. I stopped playing about 10 years ago and started again this year. In the mean time I got the titanium upgrade you see below after a cycling crash. Shoulder straps on bags, cameras, guitars etc. can be uncomfortable...
