Ah, okay. Thanks for that info. I thought I read that one time, that one of the magnets needed to be flipped to have other pickup brands to be in phase with the PRS switch.
So my 1997 PRS CE24 is off at my local guitar shop for some fret work and pickup replacement/wiring. I bought the guitar 5 years ago from Reverb, it came with the Pearly Gates set from the prior owner, but I was never really sure what was going on with the wiring on the rotary switch, as the...
Hmm. I thought both neck and bridge were based off of the PAF Pro. All I know is the Breed set in my Dean Caddy both sound beefy and awesome without being muddy.
Don't know yet. Just got it in the mail today. I'll be having it installed some time this week or next in a '97 PRS CE24.
The seller said it read 15.90k on his meter. It seems a tiny bit low for a standard JB, but I guess they can fluctuate?
Just picked up what looks to be a Royal Blue JB (maybe Electric Blue?) similar to what Tommy Thayer has used in his blue sparkle Les Paul. Is this a standard JB just with a different color made only for him?
It's been a long time since I've used one. I got this one in a trade awhile ago. Though, I did have one in an old Jackson RR1T where I took a JB out. Now that I'm thinking about it, the neck pup was a Jazz, so I guess it should pair up fine with a PG.
Hmm. Maybe, since the PRS has mahogany body, but maybe the maple neck and top might help it from being too dark. I did have a Tone Zone in an old poplar Jackson and an alder BC Rich Gunslinger, both with maple necks, and they weren't too dark.
So I got this 1997 PRS CE-24 a few years ago that came with a set of Pearly Gates. I'll probably remove the five-way rotary switch as it's wired a little weird and I'm not sure exactly what's going on anyway (position 1 is full bridge humbucker which is primarily what I use 99 percent of the...
Re: Parallel Axis Appreciation Thread
Most modern tune-o-matic bridges are F-spaced. I had a 2000 USA Jackson RR1T that I put a PATB-2 into, and it also lined up perfectly. The pickup sounded amazing, and I recently bought another one to put into something else.
Seems the search function no longer works since the site was updated. I get...

Re: I need a decent neck humbucker with a three screw mount rather than two
Just drill a new hole between the existing two. I did that to my Carvin years ago.
