Are all Celestion speakers made in China or just the V30?

I thought I would ask the well informed people here about this. I'm thinking of getting K100s and was just curious.

Is there anything tighter than an EMG 81 for 7 strings?

We tune to our 7s to A standard. I currently have Blackouts and they are great for low volume playing and recording, but at practice volume with my 6505+ they get pretty muddy. I keep my gain at 3. So I'm considering getting an 81 because they are much tighter, they compress the highs keeping...

    Avatar contemporary 4x12 questions

Lately I've been really looking into 4x12 cabs. I've been using my Ear Candy Buzzbomb 2x12 with Eminence Governor and Wizard for maybe 6 years now. It sounds great to me, but I'm also digging the sound of my other guitarist's 4x12. We have the same 6505+ heads. Anyway, he plays through a B-52...

Time for some new power tubes for my 6505+

I'm between either getting another JJ 6L6GC set, New Sensor Svetlana 6L6GC, or Tung Sol 7581. I like low mid and tight bass with emphasis on clarity. I'm not into a lot of treble, I like balance and head room with a lot of punch. Also, I don't want to spend more than the 7581s cost. I don't like...

    TUNG-SOL 7581

I'm interested in putting a quad of these in my 6505+. Would they be safe electrically speaking?

Question for amp techs and moders familiar with the 6505+

Looking at the schematic for the regular 6505 c19 looks like a treble bleed circuit, I can't find the schematic for the plus version and want to confirm c19 does the same function. I want to take it out if it is a treble bleed cap and it's the same for the 6505+. Any and all help is greatly...

Considering a speaker swap, please help

I have an Ear Candy Cabs Buzz Bomb 2 12 loaded with an Eminence Wizard and Governor. It's very mid and treble oriented and I'm thinking of swapping to a pair of Texas Heat speakers. I use a 6505 and I'm looking to even the overall sound by taming some of the high mid, treble, and fizz. Would the...

People who think Blackouts are too hot

I have blackouts in my Schecter C-7 standard and with my 6505 I think it's to much output to the point where it's muddy and noisy. Yesterday I put a 300k resistor between the signal wire and the output plug to lower the output. This works perfectly. I would say the Blackouts are now about as hot...

Thinking of swapping out my Governors for Texas Heats in my Buzzbomb

I play technical/ melodic/ blackened/ death metal music. It's kind of hard to generalize, but it falls in that kind of category. Bottom line is it's brootal, dark, and a lot of shedding and harmonies on 7 strings. My amp is a 6505 and it goes into my Earcandy cabs Buzzbomb 212. I have governors...

    TB-5 for sale(price drop)

$35 shipped. This was my experimental mag swap pickup. I was always careful not to damage anything, but I've since restored it to is stock form and it has been wax potted at 140°. Sounds great and is in excellent working and cosmetic condition. It has about 8" if lead write left.

    TB-5 for sale

I bought this earlier this year for magnet swaps and experimentation. I reassembled it back with the original ceramic magnet and I wax potted it again using 80/20 paraffin/beeswax at 140° in my double boiler. It's very quiet and has about 8" of lead wire left. Asking $45 shipped.

    To everyone who uses blackouts

Are your blackouts as noise free as advertised? Are they quieter than your passives? Mine are not. The noise is about 30% the volume of the signal. I have tried many things including re soldering new pots, switches, jacks, installing new batteries, etc. I have checked my connections and grounds...

    Blackouts output reduction

I'm having problems with my blackouts feeding back and being noisy and I noticed that when I roll back the volume knob a hair it ceases. I am thinking of putting a resistor in series between the bridge volume pot and the switch. Question is what value? Would anything from a 2k-5k work? Maybe...
