Have recently purchased a nearly new Gretsch Pro Jet,,Looks like a LP but with only a master tone and master vol instead of usual 4 pots.Very cool looking guitar that plays welland it actually says Gretsch on the headsock.Pick ups are Gretsch minibuckers which sound quite good but I hope...

Please excuse my ignorance but can somebody explain why the dial a split still lets the HB remaın hum cacelling but the simple coil cut does not.. if you wire in a resistor to the coil cut to ape the dial a split can it be made hum cancelling or am I being stupid?
