I like GHS Boomers even better than the Dean Markley NickelSteel. However, the Boomers loose their sparkly sound very quickly for me. They don't for you? I think I'll look for a new guitar string home at DR now. But with my luck they go bankrupt next...

DD or Pearly Gator. They are quite different, PG is PAF-class (well, a little above), but we can't rule out that it will be good for your classic rock chores. I'd try the DD first.

I don't see how that affects customers right now. Or in the future for that matter. Nobody can see or hear a pickup name or pickup feature name.

Nobody is perfect. The issue is that companies like DiMarzio throw all kinds of crap at the wall and see what sticks. You get a weaker person in the office and it will be extremely hard (a lawsuit) to get rid of the patent or trademark. That's a business model and I don't like it.
