I recently got a Carvin AE185 that a previous owner had cut out a Strat-size middle pickup hole between the humbuckers. The unidentified pickup in there now is some kind of stacked bucker with large flush poles. Sounds OK on its own but just won't quack at all when combined with the others...

Just got a cream pair on Ebay - a Custom & a Hot. Then I won a pair of black Fralins as well, which is what I really plan to use. If I want to mix them can I swap the Duncan covers for black ones?

We don't seem to to hear much about the Hot Rails neck pup. I notice it's around 10K, a lot lower than the bridge model. What do these sound like? What other pups do they compare to? Do they have a bit more clarity than the bridge model? Seems like they'd almost have to....
