Just a quickie to say thanks for the guys on this forum who recommended samick guitars for quality cheapos. i just received my rockwell from fleabay and i am astounded by its quality considering the price. grover tuners are great, build quality very good, mahogany body feels lovely, blah blah...

i'm going to embark on my first tele project. i have a usa ash body with mighty mite maple/rosewood neck. i'm going to clear-nitro the body. what pickguard would you go for? would a dark one tend to look better with the light body? or because of the rose neck, could i get away with a light...

if you were to aquire an ash guitar body, what would you do about the finish? i'm talking about if you were doing it yourself. any views on the best/easiest methods etc?

please can you tell me, a hack, whether luthiers actually build guitars from scratch, or whether they put together the bits.

could someone settle an argument, er, discussion i have going with theodie. can a 12th fret harmonic be out of "tune" with the open string? to my crap knowledge, the harmonic will always be the same, it just might not be exactly over the 12th fret. come on, what do you think?

i want to replace the pots on my ibanez bl300. i know that cts are the industry standard. what i'm unsure of is the type i need for tone and volume. is there a difference, or is it just the fact that a cap is used on the tone? thanks

i've replaced my 59's (SH1's) in my epi LP with Kent Armstrong pickups - a humbucker in the bridge and a P90 type in the neck. What's do you think of this? have i gone mad?!

i bought a cheap strat from flea-bay. intonation was way out. so i thought i'd move the trem bridge back a little bit. when notes were fretted, those near the nut were very sharp. now that i've moved the bridge back, the 12th frets are bang in tune, but those near the nut are still a tiny...

could anyone give me any ideas on how to install a KA P100 type pup instead of a humbucker in my LP? thanks.

if you had one p90 and one humbucker, where would you have the p90? neck or bridge?

just been reading the posts about string guages. it's just occured to me that i don't understand why you would put, say, a set of 11-? instead of say 9-? strings on a guitar. what are the advantages of having thicker guage strings? thanks, the idiot of these forums.
