Im wiring an old Vox for 3 single coil pickups with a 5way rotary, 2 tone, 1 volume. I'm looking to wiring it the same as a strat, but I'm not too familiar with rotary switches. Does anybody have a wiring diagram that is at least close to this combination? Any help would be greatly appriciated
is it possible to use a passive pickup with an active pickup system? I just installed 2 emgs (the 81 and 89) into my Ibanez RGT42. I like the 81 but the 89 sounds more like a tele neck pickup than a humbucker to me (maybe I just installed it wrong). I wanted to put the sh2 into it, but I don't...
I installed a hipshot tremsetter into my Ibanez rgt42 which has a full-floating trem. When installing it I followed the instructions provided and even watched the video for it online, but for some reason nothing it advertises works. It still goes out of tune when I raise and lower the trem...
When I read the instructions online it talked about using the tone pot as a volume for the piezo system on guitars with 2 pots. Is it possible to put a ghost system into a Tele without sacrificing your tone or having to do some routing for an additional pot?
I was thinking about putting Black Ice in my tone pot. My question is: is it possible to wire a push-pull pot to use black ice in one position for overdrive and a capacitor in the other position so that i can use it as a tone pot?
What single coil pickups would go best in a thinline? I was thinking stk-t2b and the STK-T1N because I wanted something I could tap. Would a high output pickup like the stk-t2b cause a problem in a thin line? Any personal suggestions?
Im building a tele and im torn between modern hum canceling tele pickups or vintage tele pickups. I was thinking about going with the antiquity telecaster 1955 if I go vintage or the stk-t2b and stk-t1n for a more modern sound. I'd like to know some opinions on these pickups so please feel...
I built recently built a tele and put the STR-1 and the ST59-1b in it. It sounds awesome but if I don't have my hands touching the strings or any other metal part of the guitar it starts to buzz. I was wondering if it was a soldering problem. How can I fix this?
I'm a little confused as to what's more powerful. I've heard that the DiMarzio X2N is noted as being the most powerful humbucker with the Super 3 closely bringing up the rear. I'm comparing them to the SH 13, which I'm leaning more towards for my Ibanez RGT42, and what I don't understand is why...
I'm changing the pick ups in my custom 22 with a 5 toggle switch. Since coilsplitting is involved I figured the SH-4jb and the SH-1 59n would be pretty sweet way to go. any suggestions?
