  • Hi Geoff, hope you're well and everyone around you is safe and well also. Just wondering if you could help me with a placement issue of a compressor I'm waiting on. At the moment my pedal are..... Wah>tuner>Fuzz Head>Crunchbox>MXR Custom Audio Boost all in to front of amp. Then Retro Chorus>Dleay>MicroAmp in to loop. I'm generally happy with this set up as the Chorus and delay are definately better for my amp in the loop (I use my Cornfords drive more than my drive pedals) and the MicroAmp for lead boost. Anyway, the question is where to put my CMATMODS compressor? I did have a Keeley and put it after the Tuner... so between tuner and Fuzz Head. I know there is always trial and error, but what are your thoughts? Any help appreciated. Many thanks in advance. All the best Geoff, regards Don.
****, man, that's quick service from the Heil distributor in England.
Ordered it at 4pm yesterday and arrived this morning. Just in time for a 500 peops sold out gig on friday night backing up the AC?DC tribute act here in Belfast.
Looks the part. First sound impressions are great - will need to hear the meat and two veg through a good P.A.
    Cheers.

    Cheers!
Your placement is pretty much where I had been using it, but wondered if you had tried anything else (such as that heil pr 30.) Reasonably priced over here at £100 so think I will order one today!! Busting to buy something new...you know how it is.
It was a pretty beat up sm 57 that the sound guy used for the gig at the weekend. I know that my less than perfect pa sound could have been many things, but bringing my own mic to gigs might take away a little more of the un-controlables!
    Thanks again.

    Bout ya!
Hope your gigs are going well, man.
My band have started gigging hard again for the summer and just wanted to ask you about micing your cabs for the stage.
Previously I have been primarily using the xlr mic eliminators from the back of my Randall 4x12s but now feel this to be a bit sterile compared to front micing of the v30s.
I def prefer the speaker movement at breakup to be included in the pa mix, even though the eliminators give a consistant tone and clean line for the pa.
Where do you place your mics, angle wise and distance from the treble cone etc, for the stage and how far from the grill etc. We only have the one guitar and I need as beefy a pa mix as I can get.
    Cheers.

    'Ello...

What's this new fangled "friend" thing all about? Still don't even have the hang of myspace yet... haha. Maybe I should change my handle to Captain Caveman!
