  • I use my Full Shred, in my Les Paul studio, with Mahogany, maple cap, rosewood neck. So, it should be similar to yours. First off, I recommend you use a 300K pot with the Full Shred in the bridge, and a 500K with the 59 in neck(which i;m sure you already have).

It takes a pinch of high end off, but not much, and really smoothens out the sound ! This is probley one of my favorite pickups for Palm muting, and sounds it's best tuned down ! (I use it 1/2 step down, or usually a whole step down tuned, and it sounds amazing)

It lacks bottom alittle bit, but you can correct that with the amp, the plus side to that is, it's very defined. the 300K helps smooth out the upper mids aswell. Another reason I love it, is because of the attack you get from it.It's unreal !

I think with a 59 in the neck, it would sound pretty good since the guitar has maple. If you can, try to find an old model of Full Shred, the one I have is late 80's and seems to be wound slightly hotter. Hope this helps.
