Ahh sheeeeet, I always forget to reply to things lol.
Hell, I'm a metalhead really, probably one of the biggest metal fans on this board but I openly admit I LOVE Paramore's music to bits.
I just like the idea of being the only guitar. there's something powerful about being the only guitar player in a band. it forces you to have huge tone and riffs.
The music that comes out of my brain is usually punk rock, pop, or stuff like 90s alternative.
The music I've played all these years on guitar is Pantera, blink-182, Santana, Vai, Van Halen, Michael Jackson, Racer X, Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Good Charlotte, Ricky Martin... I'm pretty rounded.
My old band has a blink-182/fall out boy/ paramore kind of sound. I've been straying from that lately though, simply because I've finally bought some effects pedals I've always wanted to play with.
Lately I've been listening mainly to Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, The Cure, Sonic Youth... lots of "alternative" rock bands. It's been out of a desire to write more complicated, intricate songs.
I've also always wanted to be in a trio, so this is my chance for that. My first band is a 4 piece.
Yeah. I think my music strikes a good balance. All I have right now are tunes from my old band, which I still love, but it's more of a compassionate love, than a mad passion. :lmao:
That's the exact reason why I'm offering to do work for free on guitars, simply because I'm sick of people getting ripped off. It started when I saw this dude who plays in a local band I've heard good things of. He walked into a store and they handed him a case with a stratocaster. He opened it, and I heard the guy from the store say things like: "you live by the beach right?" among other things and made me realize he's being a moron.
the band isn't... amazing, but they do have cool gear. Except for the bassist! I mean look at all their stuff... and she has the nerve to play a stock MIM fender p bass! :lmao:
That store closed. Hard to believe, I had shopped there a bunch of times and even bought a guitar.
now most of the assholes that used to work there work at a new store, very close to Plaza Las Americas, simply named "The Music Store". they are a fender dealer, and have almost the same prices as MF, so its not so bad. still the same jerks that suck at selling and know nothing about gear, but whatever.
You have no idea what it's like to talk to those people. I've heard them say some realy stupid ****. Honestly, if there was a guitar center here, i wouldn't say anything. lol
