I haven't kept up with the forum pickup, but as long as it's a normal single coil it works. A Mustang pickup is a strat pickup under the cover...

I typically use it on its own (i.e. with no other pedals) into a cranked NMV amp such as an AC30 or Celtic Caitlin (tweed Tremolux clone). Flippin' fantastic pedal.

Honestly, it goes well with pretty much anything.
