Mate, so sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I had no notification that I had a message (or I missed the notification).
I have found that the full shred neck works best in a warmer instrument (I have one now in a PRS Custom 22) - the PATB-1n is a great pickup that I think will work well in basswood - it's a more lively '59 in my opinion.
You want the PATB-2 distortion for the bridge, its a heavy ceramic pickup - or the Crazy 8 - it's surprisingly heavy too!
PATB-1 is a classy, sweet pickup, the PATB-2 is angry - so very heavy, PATB-3 is warmest, and the Crazy 8 is a hard and heavy, but cleans up so very well - but you can only get it through the Custom shop (you can get a matched set though.)
The original PATB-1 can do heavy - I've got it one in an Ibanez RG, and it walks the walk, the Distortion and Crazy 8 are just heavier.
Again, my apologies for not writing back sooner....
