I read the messages you sent me about the Detonator bass issue.I have tried just about everything. Changed the screws for solid slugs (.187" diameter), for socket screws (like a Dimarzio) etc. Really couldn't tell much difference in the tone.The only thing I found that helped at all was changing volume pots to 1 meg. But they are still bassy, the 1 meg pot just allowed some more high end to come through. My set are in an Ibanez SZ720 (mahogany, maple cap body, mahogany neck). I hope that helps you in some way.
