That sounds like a LOT of guitar for 650 USD... If the build quality matches with those specs, then there really is no reason for Gibson to exist...

I saw yesterday Anderton's review of the new inspired by Gibson SGs and Les Pauls. Both Muse models have coil splits, out of phase switch "Peter Green mod" and treble bleed circuit. Both models come in various colors. Before this I was thinking about getting the DC Pro, but wasn't too thrilled about it. Now I have serious gas for the sg.

edit: Just saw the sg with p90s. Now I'm torn. https://www.epiphone.com/Guitars/Col...ired-By-Gibson

Epi is one company that I believe is truly making meaningful/useful progress without being just tasteless nonsensical changes just for change sake. All this and keeping quality at the top and keeping price where it should be.

This guitar is really a no-brainer.

(Gibson, you should be ashamed of your mainline guitars.)

Coil split and phase switch. Nice. I like the sparkling burgundy.

I much prefer the "new" headstock design to the old one.

So they can make a modern guitar for not a lot of $$, they just chose not to until now.

Is it just the mockup or is that a massive headstock?

That's most probably going to be my next purchase, and the first NEW instrument in the at least last twenty years. I much prefer the Alnico Classic Pro p'ups than the Probucker 2/3 the Modern come with, plus the weight-relief feature's pretty well received by my aging body's shoulder.

Also, just by adding a poker chip, Top Hat Bell Reflector knobs and a pickguard, you get the closest to a Classic Goldtop.

If somebody told Epiphone of make a Sheraton with the body dimensions of an ES-339, I'd be all over it even before it ships, if you can believe that, LOL.

And if they make it with a 25.5" scale too, it'll be my dream instrument.

                      One can dream, isn't it?

I wore down a 3-pickup Gibson Nighthawk when I was a pro. When time came to do a refret, I got something else. I loved the 25.5" scale and how balanced it was, however, I could never bond with the switching or the p'up configuration, for that matter.

I got the opportunity of getting a beaten-up Valley Arts Strat like the one Larry Carlton used for some time and it was no turning back. That instrument was everything I needed and then some. I literally cried when I got it stolen while on the road. The insurance paid me more than fairly, but I've never been able to find another one like it.

The Epiphone version of the Johnny A has a 25.5" scale....

"Massive headstock"? What are you referring to? It's smaller than previous models.
