  • 1980's stacked coil help

    hi need help to id this pup it is said to be seymour duncan 1980's
    stacked coil it has three wires red. white. and black does any one
    know what wires do what and which way do you test them and what readings
    i should be getting

    That's probably a tapped single coil not a stacked single coil because all of the windings are in the same direction and the two sections aren't divided.

      ok if its a tapped coil how do you test readings and what should the output be ?

        test the white and black, i'd imagine in the 6K range somewhere.
        The red should be lower with the ground tap .

            So red and black is the full coil.
            Not sure why the no reading on the other.

                At 7.6 it might be half of a tapped SSL-3.
