  • Coming Soon! Pedal Shootout / Comparison

So I have finally got around to setting things up in Audio & Video!

Suhr Riot vs Joyo US Dream vs Mooer Solo
    - Dean Cadillac w/ Pearly Gates
    - Mesa Stiletto on Tight Clean channel

And let me say this....I think you'll find it very very interesting!!!! Been fun playing with all three at once....

I'm using my Jamman Express to keep the playing consistent

    A few things you'll see:
    - Each pedal running its range on distortion and EQ
    - Open rhythm, Bar chords, and Solos using each
    - Common familiar riffs
    - No auxiliary effects; Pure Pedals
    - Each pedal set to be as close as possible to the others! Can it be done???
    - Maybe a Surprise ending. Or two...

Already got the intro titles and music done!!!

Some pedals only achieve their true tone potential with pants off Mincer.

Weird that it specifically has to be Mincer with pants off for the pedals to achieve true tone potential.

Some pedals are True Buy-pants. You can't afford pants because the pedal is so damn expensive!

some pedals have just a bit more Hair on them then others

just crack the gain on the second drive

Re: Coming Soon! Pedal Shootout / Comparison

Ace, some advice if you are doing a video. If your goal is you want people to make a true A/B/C comparison without influence. Try to allow for a blind comparison for the viewer by using their ears by labeling each forthcoming gear tone with a number on screen and an audible number in the audio track at the beginning of each track -in this way people can watch your video and make tonal comparisons without emotional attachment to brand names or graphics and really find out what they prefer. And then announce what the gear the numbers reference to at the end.

I always prefer those style videos because they teach a lot more about what the gear is actually doing and what the person listening really prefers. There's a guy on here who makes great amp comparison videos, but you can't follow blindly and compare easily so they are kind of a wasted opportunity, because nobody is easily following 15 amp tones for :30 each and not falling in love with the graphics, features and brands they see while listening to the tone. -emotional attachments and bias can totally color your conclusions -and without reference numbers in the audio track and on screen it's difficult to just listen to the audio tracks and follow along.

Just a suggestion if you're thinking of that style video, if not consider for the future.
