Hey there I have an ORANGE CUSTOM SHOP RETRO 50 HAND-WIRED AMPLIFIER, I would like to replace the valves/tubes of the amp, I would like to get that Eddie Van Halen Nuno Bettencourt Steve Morse sound. I would like your opinions on what Valves/Tubes I should use/your recommendations?

    Thankyou for your help.

Hmmm, those are a lot of different sounds you're looking for. I don't think just changing the tubes will do the job. Are you using any pedals/FX?

To be honeest, this is what I'd do:

Sell the amp, and look into getting the new Fender/EVH 5150 3.

-The clips I've heard of this amp suggests a sound somewhere in between Ed's old marshall brown sound and a Soldano SLO. Given that Morse used a 5150/marshall jubilee rig until recently and a lot of Nuno's tones were a Soldano SLO, I'd say the 5150 3 should give you a really good platform for getting all the sounds you want. Unfortunately 5150 3 amps aren't cheap, and you may have your work cut out getting one in South Africa, but nonetheless I reckon that's the killer way to go for you.

Otherwise, just try a bunch of pedals.
