The Swing EZ-10
This I think is THE cheapest guitar they have under the Swing moniker instead of the Smash one (think Fender vs Squier) although I really can't understand why:
5-piece Mahogany neck-thu (with Hard Maple stripes) with Mahogany wings and an Ebony top.
That's right, the fretboard is Rosewood but the guitar's top is Ebony. And if you think that's one funky wood combination (as did I) wait until you play it. Just WOW!
Acoustically this thing RULES, AMAZING definition too, I got to play some passages that are next to impossible to not mush out with unusual ease.
If so then what's making me crazy you ask?
Well, the pickups are crap (the bridge for sure, I could kinda live with the neck but not for too long), and the Floyd copy is also, well, cheap (as in cheap in price AND in feel). Works OK though (well, never went out of tune in the hours I was there playing it while they were working on my Strat...
The guy said that the Gotoh Floyd is a direct replacement as long as I don't use the back-cover (that's easy, I never do) ans we all here know how easy it is to change pus (and in the process, maybe the electronics too).
But then, after all this is said and done I calculate I'll have invested in the cheapest guitar of a relatively unknown Korean company MORE than its' original worth (about 300-400€ when it only costs 300 right now although he told me the new batches will go for 450...)
And you know what, I STILL can't take it out of my head...
So, what do you guys think?
