Tonight I kicked it with the Bogner staff, and took pics of the facility.

I don't play games do I? I walked in on the guy who tests all the amps before packaging, made friends with all 3 of the guys still there at 5PM, and just started snapping pictures!

Did you get any sneak peaks at any new "projects" that might be in the works?

It's hard to believe, but the kings of channel switchers are literally 50 meters away from the kings of single channel!

It was truly a tonal overload today!

The new project is one that the guys there haven't even had their hands on.
This week, the Alchemist is shipping from the Line 6 factory in China, where it's being made (although it's NOT a L6 product) to guitar stores across the world.
Some of the smaller dealers are getting the first batch, then Guitar Center is getting a huge batch. The Alchemist is going to sell. Everyone thinks it's only a roots rock 6L6 amp, but it does everything from crystal clean, all the midgain tones, and even highgain.

It's not made in the Bogner Custom Shop you're seeing, and the guys here haven't even seen one. But, it's going to be in stores soon, and it's no piece of crap....trust me. It's a very good amp, and it'll cost around $1100, not the $3500 price range like most Bogners.

The other 'new' amp is the Duende Seco Mojado, which just might be the amp that slays the almighty Fender. Yes, GuyWhoInventedFire......SLAYS. hahahaha
Speakers on both sides of it's cab....check some of those pics!

It's amazing how organized and neat they keep that place. Did they just move in? LOL

They must not build their own cabs in house?? I don't see paint and saw dust everywhere. hahah

When I worked at MESA Eng. I never saw the place so clean, so I have a pretty good comparitive perspective.

They really don't look to build that many amps, I see why they cost so much...

I asked the same question. Apparently, there's an operation in Victorville Ca, who makes the cabs for several companies, exactly to their specs....Bogner, VHT, Matchless, and several others. That allows the company to get their cabs done exactly to spec, without having to do it themselves. It's difficult enough to build amps and compete in the market. That's the only way most boutique amp companies can do it. Even smaller companies usually rely on their cabinetry being made by Mojo or a similar outfit.

MAN. Amp nirvana, that is! Seems fairly homely from the outside. Love the maroon/darker material. Did you get to plug into any of those?

Great pics! That new amp smell must be overwhelming. Good to know the Alchemist is shipping, my dealer 'guessed' shipment in 2-3 weeks. Yes...I can't wait!

Bogner, Orange, Tech 21 and Fender amps
    Celestion speakers
Duncan, Bare Knuckle, WCR and Gibson pups

    HA!

Cool stuff Joe, thanks for sharing!

I know all about the Duende Seco Mojado...front mounted speaker is the dry sound and the reverb signal gets piped through a pair of 8's mounted on either side...very, very cool idea! Also, the Duende is a killer amp, I wish they hadn't dropped the swap switch from it, that was a great feature! I'd alrady have looked harder at a Duende head or maybe a 1x12 and I might would have already bought one if they didn't cost $2500+...thats just too much money IMO for a PCB amp of any kind.

If you just read a post by The Guy Who Invented Fire please understand that opinions change, mind sets change and as players our ears mature...not to mention our needs grow and change. With that in mind, today I may or may not agree with the post you just read!

Me too. As much as I love my Mesas, I would really like to add a Shiva and an XTC to the pile of amps.

I hope they counted the number of amps to make sure a couple didn't mysteriously go amongst the missing.......
