that is the new humbucker made by Fender/EVH. it is the exact same pickup in the $25K frankie replicas. it is hand signed by edward, aged and is limited to like 300 (or something like that). there also a non signed version, its the same pickup, only not signed by eddie and not aged.

The EVH Frankenstein pick up was manufactured by the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop for EVH Gear.

500 is the actual number that were made.

... and anywhere from $220 to $250 less than the relic version which most retailers are selling for a mere $399!

It's 90% in the fingers and brain. Once you get the style down, the sound comes fairly easy.

Lately, EVERYTHING having to do with VH is as dumb as it gets.

I will laugh, every time I play on my $45 used C5 or my $35 used PATB-1 and I sound like myself and not like someone else.

Best thing is the relic wonīt get you any closer to any tone EVH ever recorded, because itīs the condition Frankieīs PU is in NOW, not 20 years ago. And AFAIK Frankie hasnīt been used on a record in quite some time..

Wow.... I thought $150 for it from Musician's Friend was absurd.

Edit- I had the price $30 too high. Still absurd, though.

THIS is the key to the EVH tone!
