          Re: AIIPro,JB,Distortion MEGADETH comparison

that clip on the soloist is fcking awesome, don't know if it's the JB in that guitar or your playing but it's what i'd go with

still trying to figure out how the A2P sounds so good for metal, next to the lawrence and the DD. fair enough it's not suited to it like the lawrence is suited to it, but it sounds good and thick

thanks for posting these clips man, i love obsessing over this stuff

I liked the tone of the Distortion the best.

Just had a fullness to it the other didn't.
Others tended to sound a little harsh in comparison.

              Re: AIIPro,JB,Distortion MEGADETH comparison

The Distortion clearly has the warmest tone, and because of that, i (again) can hear exactly why i do not like the JB one bit.
Way too trebly sounding for my taste.
I still prefer the A2P's openness and looseness, (and out put), just wish it could have had the same warmth as the Dist ! = is that possible ???

              Thanx for the clips !

Stoner Rock and Stoner Metal are interchangeable terms describing sub-genres of rock and metal music. Stoner rock is typically slow-to-mid tempo, low-tuned and bass-heavy. It incorporates elements of Psychedelic Rock, Blues-Rock and Doom Metal into a more repetitive and riff-centred style. Melodic vocals and 'retro' production are also common traits.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. The SL3 soloist seems to be the best sounding and playing guitar I've ever touched, it's awesome in every way.

                    Re: AIIPro,JB,Distortion MEGADETH comparison

Okay, here's some more I just did with new guitars or pickups I've got recently.

DiMarzio Super Distortion in my "Dave Murray" Squier copy:

Late 80's/early 90's Squier Fat Strat, stock pickup (I believe). This is the guitar I was asking for info on recently, it sounds alright although I think the pickup is more suited to less high gain styles. Pinch harmonics are still pretty easy to get though.

Finally, a single coil just to see how it'd sound.
Squier Affinity single coil (in my Marlin "Freya" strat, the plywood guitar that was used here for the first SH6 Distortion clip).

Just added another with the Custom Custom. I made a mistake in this, but couldn't be bothered playing it AGAIN!
