    Seems reasonable to me that this would be a significant contributing factor. Being that this is a guitar forum, I'm not surprised to see so many albums from those decades appear prominently on the SDUGF Top 100.

    The results support my contention that 1971 was the best year for rock music, with eight albums showing in the top 100. The next closest years were 1973, 1975, 1976 and 1977, each with five album appearances. The data I gathered is hardly a representative sample, but I'm sticking to my guns just the same.

      t4d's ranked order (bold indicates match with SDUGF top 100)
      1 - beatles - abbey road
      2 - steely dan - aja
      3 - allman brothers band - live at the fillmore east
      4 - beatles - sgt peppers lonely hearts club band
      5 - derek and the dominoes - layla

      6 - beatles - meet the beatles
      7 - govt mule - live with a little help from our friends
      8 - derek trucks band - live at the GA theater
      9 - lynyrd skynyrd - one more from the road
      10 - kiss - alive II

                        Haha, I know I picked Rising Force as my top 10 and I didn't pick Sad Wings of Destiny although it is one of my favorites, and I'm surprised I didn't pick that. Oh well, someone has some good taste lol.

                          Well, 4 of my top 10 made it on the list with the highest ranked favorite being Rocks by Aerosmith. I can go with that.
