  • Guitar photography thread #2 ... errr I mean my Music Man Steve Morse for sale

    [PENDING]

The following guitar and I also have decided to see other people.

This guitar sounds and looks great but it has a 1-5/8" nut and Music
Man is just unwilling to make it with a wider nut. I just don't have
1-5/8" nut hands, got it Ernie Ball? (disclaimer: 1-5/8" is the
original Fender nut width, it works for most people)

Trade for some cool Stratocaster would be ideal. I'd give some cash
to uptrade for an American '62 or something like that.

(disclaimer: I do more than amateur photography. The following
pictures have been adjusted for true color representation and have
been shot in good light. No editing to hide dings or other details
has been done. The guitar will look like this is you open my package
in good light, but it will not look like this in a gloomy cellar.
Unedited photos available or I can bring out the Powershot if you like)

I have a new pickguard for this, in creme. Not only do I think it
will make the guitar look better, I also didn't have the hole for the
silly switch right below the strings drilled. The intend was to use a
proper 5-ways switch or superswitch. The guard cost me $69 plus
    shipping or whereabouts.

Pickguard is new with protective plastic. Fully spots are the
    plastic, not scratches.

Comes with original case but I give you a rebat if you don't want the
    case:

Pricing is difficult. The used priced for this thing vary. As I
said, a trade for a Strat (or cash-uptrade to a American 62 RI) might
    be the way to go.

I'll price it as $900 shipped/paypaled for now, without the pickguard.

I would be interested to keep one of the pickups and the case if you
    want a lower price.

[bump and copy'n'paste of trade list]

    Trades I'm interested in:
    • You can always dump old MIJ Les Pauls on me.
    • A quality Strat, along the lines of a '62 American Reissue.
    • Boutique pickups, mainly neck humbuckers and Strat pickups.
    • Speakers: Celestion G12-65 and clones thereof (Tonespotter et al).
    • EH Electric Mistress Flanger (not stereo).
    • Lexicon PCM70/80/81.
    • Patchbay.
    • Specific pickups wanted:
      • Hot stack and hot rails bridge for Tele.
      • Duncan Antiquity 1 ("Texas Hot") for Strat.
      • Strat neck with ebony board (no dual truss rods).
      • WCR crossroads neck.
      • Duncan Custom Shop "The 78" neck.

In general, I like Partscasters but I don't trade U.S made "whole
guitars" for them. I only trade Partscasters to Partscasters (which
    includes non-vintage Japanese instruments).

I could be convinced to like amps along the lines of a Mesa Rectoverb
    or DC-5, combos preferred.

      No Music Man love?

This thing is really just a glorified Tele. Don't let the looks fool you.

Trade offers? Need Mesa combo or Strat.

You can have it cheap if don't want the pickups.

        Bump.

Flying to London Saturday, so if anybody over there wants it that is doable.
