Mesa - popular as marshall but same quality and component class as others you've mentioned.

Hughes and Kettner - german made and expensive, so somewhat rare

Fryette - renamed VHT, nothing else changed

Deizel - still around but apparently has bad distribution

Koch - Netherlands made monsters but are really rare

ENGL - german made and expensive, so somewhat rare

Bogner - really poplular on this board but i've yet to know anyone who's owned one

    Splawn - same as above

Budda - recently acquired by peavy and went to ****

Orange - exploded in popularity recently but many of their amps are high gain/high dollar

Soldano - not much buzz recently except for the 'jet city' stuff

Rivera - seemed like they were about to get popular a few years ago but never did

Custom audio amplifiers - John Suhrs brand that gets lots of love on other boards

Framus - german made and expensive, so somewhat rare

Bad Cat - lots of pros seem to like them although not much love here

Diamond - new company making the high gain/high dollar amps although they seem to be releasing more amps than I can casually keep track of

Dave Friedman amps - famous for modding marshalls and now has started his own line

Edit: Some of these amps are assumed to have "top quality" components due to being so damn expensive. I haven't peeked inside and wouldn't know the difference between a $0.02 resistor and a $20 resistor.

Thank you man, this is what I was looking for. I left Mesa, Orange, out because to me, they reached Marshall status.

Guess you can say i'm trying to get some other high gain, upper end amp companies. Fryette is def high gain, love my amp, but i don't consider them high end since they cost similar to Marshall/Mesa etc

Sorry but your "high end" logic is very flawed as is your "cost" evaluation.

Mesa may be as popular as Marshall but COMPLETELY destroys them in quality. They even use metal knobs on their amps which would be the first thing to go if they were trying to cut costs. Marshall in comparison is a 'budget' amp that people pay more for because of import tax. The name is big so most accept it. Most Mesa amps are also significantly more expensive than similar Marshalls.

10 years ago Orange would have been on your list. They aren't now because they recently exploded in popularity. I'm not sure much has changed except a shift in higher gain models.

You own the cheapest/featureless amp that Fryette makes....$1500! Look at the Pitbull UL (or any Pitbull) and tell me that's in the same cost and quality as a Marshall.

...but then you list Madison amps as "high end"? You've got some loose screws dude.

If you're going blast me at least be knowledgable and READ my post. I was simply asking, for other amps. NOT one's you could easily buy at a GUITAR CENTER like MESA, ORANGE, etc. I'm not disputing MESA makes high quality amps.

My amp may be featureless, but that's the reason I got it. I don't need efx, multi channels, etc. I just need a sick tone.
