Thanks for keeping up with this thread, guys. I'll probably send this PSU back because money is tight right now and I really don't need it.
Here's something new, though: I got the system to crash without the third HD plugged in. Both SATA and power were unplugged from the drive at the time. I guess the problem isn't directly related to that third drive, it just happens more often with it than without it.
All three hard drives and the CD/DVD drive are connected via SATA.
I generally shut the system down completely after each use, because that computer is not my primary computer and I only use it for music.
Any guesses as to the next appropriate diagnostic test would be greatly appreciated, but feel free to give up on this at any time. I'm almost there myself.
