Maple filler strip installed, frets cut, and routing done for Gibson MOP inlay.

Just waiting on the binding I want to use to show up from Stew Mac, and of interesting note, the veneer on the headstock is not Holly, but some sort of plastic.

The heat killed one of my micro bits...

Put a volute in while you are at it! Wish every Gibson had one. It's the biggest stubborn-assed design flaw that they do not build them with volutes.

I am starting to think you are trolling --- first praising Ed Roman, and now this

                  Awesome thread!

I would do a Confederate Flag painting on it and maybe a "01" - General Lee
                  California on my mind...

                    Guys,

I do believe in volutes in general, but I was planting my tongue firmly into my cheek here! C'mon! How do you add a volute anyhow?

Actually, adding a volute would be failrly simple. I have no desire to do so, but it has been done on many a neck repair.

Check out how Roman Rist did this repair.

Fretboard done, test fitted. Orvilles (or any Japanese Gibsons) did not have the binding nibs, so I went ahead and created those.

Going to punch out the side marker dots after dinner...
