Well, you have the honour of posting the first 7 in the thread. What happened to your 1527 with the Blaze pups and locking stud upgrade? Don't tell me you flogged it ...

The on/off switch for the battery is a clever little mod. Get a freakin' knob and switch tip!

Hmm, I would've though that the original bridge was Gotoh, as the axe is MIJ. It would've been interesting to have different bridge baseplates (e.g. brass, aluminium, steel) when you were modding to experiment with tonal characteristics.

Good to see people rocking some hardtails.

My parts RG that is now sold off... as parts

      My slightly modded SA

And my lovely, lovely SR700 bass, which now has no frets

I've also, in the past, owned a destroyer and a lovely purple roadstar II series fretless.
I do like my Ibanez guitars

I used to have an Ibanez Silver Series Strat, but mine was ash and extremely heavy. I just didn't bond with it.

Later I had an even heavier Ibanez, a twin-neck Artist. I ended up selling that to a buyer in the USA, i think the freight cost alone was close to $600.

            Please see my avatar

I don;t have a bigger pic of her, but she's an AEL40SE, solid spruce top, sycamore back and sides, mahogany neck, rosewood board.

She sounds absolutely beautiful, I fell in love with her as soon as I picked her up in the shop 2 years ago. She only set me back £320 as well. I personally think she sounds like she should have cost twice that amount.

EDIT: This is just a stock photo, but its a good one:

Still got one of the pickups somewhere (Super 70).

Re: The 'post your Ibanez' thread

I have four ( I do have 7 other guitars, including Gibson SG, LP, Fender Yngwie strat, and on top of those I have made two myself: a Dime and 7-string-baritone/6-string double-neck.)

My very first guitar. My dad bought this in 95 or so. Second hand.

                Here are the specs:

Ibanez PL1770 (Pro Line) made in 86
                Alder body
                Maple neck
                Ebony fretboard
                Original Edge tremolo
SD Parallel Axis stack neck pup
                SD YJM Fury middle pup
SD Parallel Axis Distortion bridge pup

It used to have a pickup preset switch (5 small buttons you can see on the pickguard, they are now just for looks.)

                Pup switching as follows:

                1. Bridge hum in series
                2. Bridge hum in parallel
                3. Bridge and neck pups in parallel with each other
                4. Neck stack in parallel
                5. Neck stack in series.

When I push/pull is up it's jsut the middle pickup.
I can split the neck and bridge pup and I have the "Power boost" for the neck stack which reverses the phase of one of the coils making them in phase. I gives more power but it hums.

Normally I use 9-46 strings in E. At the moment it has Gold plated Aurora strings.

Not on the picture: I use it with the furrier Dimarzio Yngwie strap.

                Here it is:

My kind of Tribute to Dime is the next one.

                Specs:

Ibanez DG350 (Destroyer) made in 86
Basswood body with Flame maple top.
                Maple neck
                Rosewood fretboard
                Original Edge tremolo
                Stock Ibanez V5 pickups

Normally I use 9-50 (Dime signature gauge) strings in E but at the moment it has 11-14-18-36-52-70 in A-D-G-F-A-D so can riff in A and solo in D. Sort of a 6/7-string hybrid. And every now and then 10-52 in D

                Here it is:

Then is my 80's shredder guitar

                Specs:

                Ibanez RG465m
                Basswood body
                Maple neck and fretboard
                Edge3 tremolo
Dimarzio Air Norton S neck pup with white cover
Dimarzio Air Zone bridge pup with white bobbins and gold pole pieces.
                EMG Afterburner boost.

                Switching:
                1. Bridge in series
                2. Both split
                3. Both in series, in parallel with each other
                4. Neck in parallel
                5. Neck in series

I changed the DMZ D-Activator because it was a little too hot and trebly for that guitar. Air Zone is more vintage and warm. And I wanted a different look with the white pup covers. I installed the Afterburner just in case I need some extra power after all. It gives nice Fuzz flavours to the sound.

                Normally 9-42 in E

                Here it is:

Fourth and hopefully not the last Ibanez. I just love the double cutaway LP shape.

                Specs:

                Ibanez AR250
                Mahogany body and neck
                Rosewood fretboard.
                EMG 89-X-R neck pup
                EMG81TW-X bridge pup

I just changed the pickups today. The stock pups were not that great. I didn't want to go with the usual 81-85 or 81-60 combo so I added the X's, white covers, split option and the neck pup splits so that when split the singlecoil is nearer the neck (hence the R for reversed.)

                Normally 10-52 in D

                Here it is:

Here is all I have for now. Ibanez's are phenomenal guitars. I could play any gig with basically any Ibanez guitar and it would sound at least okay.

                My favourite guitar brand.
