  • Anybody know what pups are in Lakland ...

    Bass. 5594.?

I was told that they are Duncan Designed.

I would rather not take the bass apart just yet.
    But if I have to.

Whatever they are I like it through my pedal board... Its okay straight through the amp I guess... I'm not into the dry signal right now.

I heard they don't make these anymore.. Was looking for the next best thing.

This is all detective work, just as a FYI...

Bartolini makes the MM-J base model pickups and the Chi-sonic is made by Hanson. I don't know visually but if you bought it and didn't see a bunch of CHI 'flash' one the guitar its likely the MM-Js. What was the year of production for the bass (may help ferret out who actually made them)? I didn't find any Duncan references in the stuff I looked through..

    Cheers!

It's about 6 years old I guess. Made in America.

Got of the phone with Lakland today but they can't remember either.

        They are Duncans though.

Duncans were offered as a custom upgrade to Lakland bass at the time.

This 5 string bass was made in 2006.
It has a Bartolini preamp and a full set of Duncans.
I'm still checking on the exact model of Duncans for accuracy.

The bridge is NEODYMIUM MM style and the neck is Jazz style.

Found a photo of the bass...

The SD pickups are passive but there is a custom Bartolini active preamp inside.
It also has a mini toggle coil splitter!
              Efff Yeah!

Re: Anybody know what pups are in Lakland ...

Those pickups were made in the Custom Shop by Kevin Beller and his crew. The Jazz pickup is a Stack. There were several versions of the MM. Some were two coil, some were four coil, some were Alnico, some were ceramic. None were neodymium. Ten fully-charged neodymium magnets of that size would pose a serious environmental threat...

                I hope that helps.
