  • Hi! New member here! Metal track recorded w/Distortions inside...

    Hi guys, My name's Matt and I'm the lead guitarist in Darkadian. I'm also a recording/mixing engineer and run Numbskull Audio Production. I've been using Seymour Duncan's on and off for years now, but only just got round to signing up to the forum!

    I hope it's not too much of a faux pas to post in this section first, but this isn't spam of any kind, just that this happens to be the only track of ours that I recorded with Seymour Duncan's (it's usually EMG's, for the most part) so figured it was a good way to introduce myself.

    It was recorded with my Schecter v-1 Classic.

    The guitar's a bit of a weird one. I bought it on a whim really, because I got a good deal on it. Never intended on using it for this band at all, as I have plenty of other guitars geared more towards metal. It came with Seymour Duncan custom custom and 59 (chrome covered) but me being the boring metal bastard that I am swapped them out for a Distortion set to see how it goes. Anyway, this is the outcome. It's still not my main guitar by any means but I love the crap out of it now.

    Thanks for looking and I hope to stick around!

        Hi! Cool tune. Bass drum kind of tires my ears out but matches the modern metal sound.

            Thanks dudes!
            For amps on this particular track it's just modelling (amp sims + impulses) as I haven't yet re-amped this track. But when I do it'll be my Peavey 6534+ and ENGL Savage 120 through Marshall 1960DM (Dave Mustaine sig with V30's)

            Here's one of our tracks that I have re-amped already;

            (no we're not an instrumental band, just looking for a singer atm!)

            EDIT: Ok, I can't seem to link it because it has a curse word in the song title lol. Just go here - https://soundcloud.com/darkadian and it's the song titled F*ckin' Disgustin'

                  Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.
