  • New DSL Marshall for JCM 800 tone?

Do the new Marshall DSL series of amplifiers give a tone similar to the old JCM 800s?

Agreed and I also have owned both.
Best shot at getting the JCM 800 tones with out breaking the bank is to find a 1990's JCM 900 MK III Dual Master Volume. This is NOT the same amp as a JCM 900 Dual Reverb.
Because the Dual Reverb has a bad rep the Dual Masters get ignored and are IMO one of the best sounding Marshalls out there. They are also dirt cheap if you can find one used. I own a 2501 50 watter myself.

Kiesel DC 135, Carvin AE 185, DC 400, DC 127 KOA, DC 127 Quilt Purple, X220C, PRS Custom 24, Washburn USA MG 122 proto , MG 102, MG 120.
Amps PRS Archon 50 head, MT 15, Mesa Subway Rocket, DC-5, Carvin X50B Hot Rod Mod head, Zinky 25watt Blue Velvet combo.
