  • Perhaps my sons playing is more to your liking?

Here he plays his Suhr Modern 7, with Dough Aldrich pickups and a Floyd. Nice?

So do I ..... that is, I say it with my keyboard!
I am so close to retirement that I could play in a band full time. All I have to do is figure out what to use instead of money, improve my playing, learn some songs, and find some other musicians more talented than me who will do exactly as they're told. .

Nice one! I like how he transitions from the fluid super fast legato stuff to staccato playing.

Honestly, the playing is technically impressive, but it sounds generic to me... this type of thing doesn't generally get my jollies off. I preferred your recent free jazz clip, even though the chaotic parts were completely atonal. I think if your son keeps developing and takes some cues from his old man, he'll eventually get to the point where he starts tastefully breaking rules

Ok, the clip is a written solo for an entry to a metal guitarist competition. There´s a panel of metal guitarists who will decide who will win, so the number of views at youtube doesn´t matter. So, my son wrote a solo which he thought perhaps could impress that panel.

                  Most excellent!

Best of luck to your boy.
