          wouldnīt be very noticable IME, I tried one in an SL-X and the whole thing just turned to overgained mush IMO.

          BTW if anybody else has one lying around by pure luck, I too have been looking on and off for quite a while.

            By the way, the Jet City Retrovalves are 12AX7 tube replacements that can add gain to any current tube amp. They were designed by Doug Roberts who worked with Mike Soldano to create the first Soldano amp. It'd be super interesting to compare a Hot Mod to a red Retrovalve.

              FWIW I wasn`t too blown away by the RV, BUT I also havenīt used a hotmod in over a decade, so I may have a false reference point in my head. Thatīs part of the reason I would like a hotmod again, even though I canīt really say that I need it.
