  • New Guitar!

    I traded

(a parts p90 thinline with a USACG body and Warmoth neck and Lollar p90s) and

    and got

A 1976 Les Paul Deluxe with a maple neck and pancake body and mini HBs. The bridge needs new saddles. And there are some other minor stuff I need to take care.

    What say you?

    Good or bad?

Nice! I had a 76' Deluxe for many many years. It was my first "real" guitar......

Same here. Mine was wine red and bought in 77, I dropped a set of P-90's in it around 80 instead of the mini humbuckers and played the heck out of if until it burned in a house fire around 1982.
              You did well man!

If sometime down the road you decide to upgrade pups...I highly recommend the Seymour Duncan "Seymourized" Mini-Humbuckers. I put those in my '73 Deluxe and WOW!! What an improvement!! Beautiful guitar!

                        Cool!

My red tele sounded really good. I loved the tone out of it. That's the essence why the other guy agreed to do the trade. He really is into the tele jr. thing. Meanwhile, the deluxe sounds very good as well. Even with a mini hb in the bridge, it is not icepicky, and has some crazy sustain going. But it needs a new bridge, new pots, caps, I am gonna change the nut as well...

Looks to me like you got the better end of the deal.

I agree...I would probably make those same changes in it. If the bridge hasn't collapsed, though, maybe just new saddles would be fine.
