Re: New Guitar!
Nice! I had a 76' Deluxe for many many years. It was my first "real" guitar......Only you can decide what "good" sounds like!

Re: New Guitar!
If sometime down the road you decide to upgrade pups...I highly recommend the Seymour Duncan "Seymourized" Mini-Humbuckers. I put those in my '73 Deluxe and WOW!! What an improvement!! Beautiful guitar!

Re: New Guitar!
Cool!
My red tele sounded really good. I loved the tone out of it. That's the essence why the other guy agreed to do the trade. He really is into the tele jr. thing. Meanwhile, the deluxe sounds very good as well. Even with a mini hb in the bridge, it is not icepicky, and has some crazy sustain going. But it needs a new bridge, new pots, caps, I am gonna change the nut as well...

Re: New Guitar!
Looks to me like you got the better end of the deal.
I agree...I would probably make those same changes in it. If the bridge hasn't collapsed, though, maybe just new saddles would be fine.Originally Posted by IanBallard
