Buy a used guitar, and only when the price is right. I am not a snob (though I was for 30 years)....now my MAIN guitars are a Gibson Faded SG ($400 used), Schecter C1ea upgraded with real Duncan pickups ($350 + $50 for used pickups pair), and an 80's Samick Super Strat (Korean $40, needed simple work), and a Chinese made Ibanzez Acoustic Electric....AW800RNT....$300 ALL USED in case I didn't make it clear. I also buy and sell all the time whenever I get a good deal. I am up over $8K in about 5 years of doing this. It's not easy to get great deals anymore, plus used prices are so way down it doesn't pay too often anymore....but i stuilll do it when it makes $$ sense. GOOD LUCK.
