  • THE MISTERY OF DOKKENBUCKER !!!!!!!!

hello guys Finally I bought a dokken pickup and I'm very pleased with its tone it's a lot of 80's metal hair I would describe it as a mixture of duncan distortion with jb, as if it were a distortion with less power but with more trebles is tone of back for the attack !!!!!!!!!!!! However when I asked about the difference between the dokken and the duncan distortion I was told that it was the thickness of the ceramic iman that in the dokken was of regular thickness and in the duncan distortion it was double thickness. My question I only know three sizes of ceramic iman the small ceramic, the large ceramic, and the large triple ceramic? Can someone answer me if there is a regular ceramic ? thanks a lot Click image for larger version

The ceramic in the Dokkenbucker is the same size as any other standard Alnico magnet.

Then why is the thickness of the dokken thinner while the DD has a double thickness?

Not sure that I understand the question.
From what I know, the JB, the Dokkenbucker and the Distortion are similar pickups utilizing different magnets, A5, ceramic and double ceramic respectively.

The magnet in the DD is twice as thick as that in the Dokkenbucker?

It sounds like the Dokkenbucker is akin to a JB+. I've read that the the Ibanez/Duncan HB103B (Duncan Designed HB112) is a refinement on the DD which also has a standard 1/8" thick ceramic. You can get these for around $30-$40 used. I'm sure there's more to the Dokkenbucker than this, though.

OH but I'm gonna rattle your cage even more.

The double thick ceramic for the Black Winter, SH6 and SH8 are ALL different same thickness, different length.

Looking at this review makes me think that it's probably a JB with a ceramic magnet that isn't as large as the Distortion? http://darthphineas.com/2016/06/seym...m-shop-dokken/

Speaking of George Lynch, isn't he supposed to come back to the Duncan artist roster soon?

So Dokken Bucker is a DD103. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!

30 bucks from Fleabay or $130 from MJ.

Lynch's best tone was on Wicked Sensation.

                            TB-12 and SLO100.
